Release 2.6.0.0/8.1.0.0 is designed to enhance the Project Management and Risk Management areas of the of the APT Methodology to further align it to the Project Management Institute's® Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBok®). The PMBok has been approved as an ANSI standard (ANSI/PMI 99-002-2000) and as such is recognized as worlds best practice in Project Management.

The Project Management Phase within the Methods manual has been updated to reflect the terminology and workflow of the PMBok. Each of the other Methods Phases have also been updated to varying degrees to cross reference back to the PM Phase with appropriate terminology. A new Risk Management Plan has been added to the Standards manual to highlight the importance of Risk Management Planning in large complex projects as outlined in PMBok 2000.

The Roles and Responsibilities section of the Management Manual has also been updated with more current terminology.
